At Holgate Brewhouse in Woodend, you can taste a range of fresh and full-flavoured authentic craft beer or tour the microbrewery, located in a handsome 19th century red-brick hotel. Why not order a beer tasting paddle of 8 beer samples, enjoy a meal in their restaurant or stay a night in one of their guestrooms?
Wine lovers who’d prefer to avoid the legwork of winery visits can check in to the Woodend Wine Store or Banks Fine Wine in Kyneton. Or pop down to New Gisborne and be adorned by beautiful views of Mt Macedon and Barringo Valley at Baringo Food and Wine Co.
The Macedon Ranges is fast becoming the artisan gin distilling epicentre of Victoria. Small batch, handcrafted gins can be tasted in bars such as Animus Distillery Bar and Cocktail Lounge and Parkland Kyneton.
For a night on the tiles, Major Tom’s, Dr Abalone and Midnight Starling in Kyneton can whip you up a killer cocktail, and while you’re there, why not stay for dinner?
