Wherever you are in the Macedon Ranges, there is an art gallery close by waiting to show off the talents of local artists.

 

artgalleryA day could be easily spent travelling between galleries and open studios in the Macedon Ranges.

Start in the north of the region in Malmsbury to visit Tin Shed Arts and Woodbine Gallery, then travelling to Piper Street in Kyneton for more interesting galleries such as Gallery on Piper.

Mad Gallery and Bankart Gallery in Lancefield offer some of the finest art in the region as well as occasional tourism exhibitions. Art classes are also offered at Bankart.

Mt Macedon, with its link to McCubbin, has provided an inspiration for many artists, and the tradition of arts continues at The Gallery in the Mount Macedon village.

Artists Realm in Gisborne is a contemporary gallery, displaying local works and offering a framing service.

Acres Wild Nursery and Black Anther Gallery (formerly Colenso Gallery) Acres Wild Indigenous Plant Nursery (est.1992) and Black Anther Gallery are two unique businesses in an oasis like setting in the Woodend business district. Owners Anne and Robin have created a vibrant complex by creatively renovating its dilapidated buildings. The concept was driven largely by their passionate interest and involvement in the natural environemnt, art and the community.

The Gallery Mt Macedon The Gallery Mt Macedon encourages and promotes artists from the Macedon Ranges. Focus exhibitions showcase individual artists while group shows celebrate the changing seasons in this beautiful region. Members invite the community to visit their studios for demonstrations and workshops during Open Studio weekend in October as well as encouraging visitors and bus groups during the year.

Tin Shed Arts Gallery
Tin Shed Arts Gallery Open Thursday to Monday 10.00am till 5.00pm. Showcasing local artists. Next exhibition opens Saturday 5th June 2010 and runs till Sunday 11th July 2010. Featuring oil paintings by Bendigo artist George Kendall and Ceramics by Drummond artist Desiree Radi Mansbridge.
